God loves science: Can science & the Bible both be true?

Time and again, we’ve been told science poses a threat to faith in God, and being religious means turning a blind eye to scientific achievements. We don’t buy it. At The Story Houston, we believe separating God from science is like celebrating art without acknowledging the artist. We believe Christians should applaud scientific study when it increases knowledge, understanding, and quality of life. And we are fascinated by questions about the relationship between science, these conversations will be informed, thought-provoking, and inspiring.

If Jesus was just a good man with good ideas, Christianity is basically the world’s greatest hoax. But if there’s something different about him, and if, as the Gospels claim, Jesus was more than just a man, then we can trust his promises.

If Jesus is the One, the struggle might be real for now, but eternity belongs to God. Evil and death have met their match. We are not alone here, and there’s more to this life than what meets the eye

2015 Louisiana annual conference

From June 7-10, 2015, more than 1,000 United Methodists from throughout Louisiana gathered at Centenary College in Shreveport for their conference. The scriptural focus for the conference meeting was John 1:39-51, where Jesus invites His disciples to believe in Him—and to “come and see.”

Exploration is a three-day event for young adults age 18-26 to listen, discern, and respond to God’s call to ordained ministry and to explore their gifts for service as a deacon or elder in The United Methodist Church.
